Langar, Nottinghamshire · since 1717

Grade II listed pub & restaurant in the heart of Langar village.

Stone walls, open fires, and a kitchen that takes things seriously — from Friday chippy teas to Sunday roasts worth planning your week around.

The Unicorns Head

A proper Nottinghamshire village pub — and a bit more besides.

This Grade II listed building dates back to 1717 — it's been the centre of Langar village life for over three hundred years. Sitting on Main Street just outside Bingham, close to the Belvoir Vale, it has the bones of a classic country pub and a kitchen that goes well beyond it. The menus change with the seasons; the welcome doesn't.

There's à la carte through the week, a Sunday roast that runs from midday to six, weekend breakfasts from half nine on Saturdays and Sundays, and the now-legendary Fryday chippy tea on Fridays. Dogs are welcome in the bar and out in the beer garden. The pub runs cashless, with full wheelchair access and disabled facilities.

★★★★★

"The food was delicious, nicely presented and arrived quickly. The staff were really attentive and friendly… we questioned why we hadn't been for a few years given we are 15 mins drive away. The prices were reasonable. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening, thank you."
